Recoveries: Dealing with Comorbid Conditions |
Patients with bipolar spectrum illnesses
often seek help for their disabling depressions and the interpersonal
chaos caused by angry, explosive, and unstable moods. They are frequently
misdiagnosed as having major depression or borderline personality
disorder. Clinicians will learn the four lines of clinical evidence
that must be examined in order to sort out personality disorders and
unipolar depression from biploar illness. Dr. Quinn will discuss the
controversies regarding the diagnosis of biploar disorder in children,
managing individuals with alcohol abuse and those at greatest risk of
suicide, reducing the risk of relapse, and potent non-drug treatments.
Lively, entertaining, and chock full of information, this seminar will
change the way you view depression and the way you work with depressed
children and adults. For more information, please visit www.socialwork.lsu.edu
under the Continuing Education selection. |
