LPP REQUIREMENTS The Office for Addictive Disorders-Addictive Disorders Regulatory Authority (ADRA) shall issue a certificate as a Licensed Prevention Professional (LPP) to each candidate who: 1. Possesses at a minimum a master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education. 2. Is a legal resident of the United States at least twenty-one years of age on the date the application is received. 3. Is not in violation of any ethical standards subscribed to by the department. 4. Is not and has not been a substance abuser or compulsive gambler during the previous two years from the date the application is received. 5. Has not been convicted of a felony. However, the department, in its discretion may waive this requirement upon review of the individual’s circumstances. 6. Has successfully completed 100 education hours with a minimum of fifty (50) hours specific to addictive disorder training. (Thirty (30) of these hours must be of a National Prevention Training and six (6) must be in professional ethics). 7. Has successfully completed 2,000 hours (one year full-time) supervised experience engaged in the providing of prevention services (120 of these hours must be directly supervised in the 5 domains with a minimum of 10 hours in each domain. 8. Provides three letters of recommendation as prescribed by the department. 9. Demonstrates professional competence by passing a written examination. |
